AN ART SONG RECITAL
New York Debut Recital
February 26, 2027
Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center,
New York City
APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 1, 2026

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY IF YOU ARE:
- A classical singer of ANY AGE
- A classical singer of Bolivian background, living in Bolivia or abroad
- A classical singer not currently under professional management
- Willing and able to travel to New York City, if selected, to participate in our program
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed Application
- Personal Statement in English or Spanish – 250-word limit
- Introduction Video in English or Spanish – 1-2 minutes
- Performance Videos – YouTube links only
- Three (3) contrasting videos of art song performances from different musical eras and in different languages – Spanish, English, French, German, or others! Please do not submit opera arias.
- One song of the three is the Required Song – Choose ONE from these two options (CLICK TO HEAR VIDEO SAMPLES)
SELECTION PROCESS:
- Applicants will be evaluated by a Selection Committee of esteemed international singers and vocal coaches. And selections will be based on:
- Completed Application
- Personal Statement
- A coherent and innovative proposed recital program is the central element of your application, and is the decisive factor in selecting the finalists and winner of the competition.
- Video submissions showcasing your current technical, musical and artistic abilities.
- The selection committee will choose three finalists prior to the final selection of the winner. Additionally, one alternate will be chosen in case the winner is unable to fulfill the requirements for any reason deemed by the organization.
- Applicants will be evaluated by a Selection Committee of esteemed international singers and vocal coaches. And selections will be based on:
KANTUTA CONCERTS NEW YORK DEBUT RECITAL INCLUDES:
- Solo Recital at Merkin Hall in New York City (February 26, 2027)
- Chosen singer will be provided with at least one vocal coaching with a top vocal coach specializing in Latin American Art Song.
- Chosen singer will be provided an accompanist for the recital.
- Flights / transportation to and from New York City
- Room & board
- Post-concert reception
- Exposure and press
WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT CHOSEN?
All applicants will receive constructive and useful feedback from the Selection Committee on your Proposed Recital Program, Video Submissions and your total application package. We encourage you to take this feedback into account and try again next application cycle!
